COVID-19 Dojo Attendance Protocol

  1. When you arrive, please stay on top of the stairwell until the instructor checks your temperature. If you are dropping off your child please wait until the temperature is taken before leaving.
    • Anyone with body temperature higher than 98.6 F or 37 C will not be permitted to enter and will be asked to leave the premises.
  2. During earlier classes the dojo entrance stairwell is a one way traffic only, so please just Enter through that door. Also if you see anyone waiting to get their temperature checked please wait outside until your turn comes up. The stairwell is very narrow and we want to prevent any unnecessary crowding.
  3. Once you enter the dojo please use the hand sanitizer to the left of the bottom entrance.
  4. Preferably, please come already dressed for class however, if you need to use the change room please make sure that you are the only person there and use any of the two washrooms in that area.
  5. If you have a bag or backpack, please hang it on the hooks provided in adequate distance from someone else belongings. If you are part of the same family you are encouraged to use the same hook.
  6. The class line up is now 4 people x 5 rows maximum, rank order. Typically you will line up by standing in the middle of the blue square in between the red ones.
  7. During water breaks please do not congregate by the water station. Just take a quick sip and return back to your spot.
  8. Face masks are not required to be worn by any participants as those are not encouraged during intensive physical activities such as ours by the Alberta Health Services.
  9. The maximum number of class attendees is 4 plus instructor(s) so please reserve your spot ahead of time in your Zen Planner Member App.
  10. Please do not touch the equipment unless asked to by the instructor.
  11. In the event when we resume any exercises in pairs and using equipment, you will be paired up with the same person for the entire duration of the class. Once finished, each participant is required to wash and sanitize their hands.
  12. All equipment in use will need to be sanitized after each use by its users and returned back to the original place. Spray bottles and cloths will be provided.
  13. Spectators generally will not be allowed during regular classes. However in instances when you are a spectator during any of the classes, you will be required to wear the mask for the duration you are allowed to stay (generally spectators allowed will be the parents of new students, belt grading etc.)
  14. All participants in the earlier classes will be asked to use the main entrance to Exit the Dojo. If you are a parent picking up your child please wait outside of the main entrance.
  15. The dojo mat and any frequently used surfaces will be sanitized after each class. Some of the class participates will be asked to help with dojo cleaning which is also customary in Kyokushin Karate practice.
  16. If you experience any symptoms such as fever, have traveled or have been in contact with anyone that has had COVID-19 symptoms please do not come to the dojo, self isolate, consult the Alberta Health Services COVID-19 Self -Assessment Tool and if your symptoms worsen phone 811.
